Fashion industry awards

In the fashion awards, the RSPCA recognises fashion industry companies working hard to meet consumer demand for more information on the source of raw materials for their products – key to improving animal welfare.

There are many issues surrounding animal welfare and the fashion industry including: the use of real fur, pelts and exotic skins; transportation and slaughter of animals whose skins are used for leather; merino wool from ‘mulesed’ sheep; the collection of cashmere and the welfare of goats; the welfare of rabbits providing angora and the sourcing of feathers and down.

"I'm thrilled that Neon Collective has been recognised for proving high-fashion and ethical production can co-exist. When I started the company, I wouldn't have dared dream that the fashion directors of Cosmopolitan and The Sunday Times would be presenting me with an award less than a year later! It shows that the fashion industry and the modern shopper are both realising that looking good needn’t cost the Earth."
